Protect Your Family

When I moved into my current home, I almost immediately noticed the roaches. While the place wasn’t overrun with them, I saw them far too often. For a few years, my husband and I tried almost every anti-roach product available on the market. We would enjoy success for a short duration. However, the roaches always came back. Then, a wonderful thing happened. We hired a pest control company to spray our home for termites. As a bonus, the chemicals used to prevent termites got rid of our roach issue. If you want to protect your family from harmful roaches, contact a local pest control entity today. On this blog, you will learn how to rid your home of roaches for good with the help of a pest control specialist.

Bed Bugs Bite! How To Handle A Bed Bug Situation In Your Hotel Room

Jennie Lucas

Just as you start to get good and comfortable in your hotel room for the night, you feel something that snaps your eyes open -- a tiny little twinge like you've been bitten by a mosquito. Now wide awake, you jump out of bed like a ninja, whipping all of the covers off of the bed one swoop. There on the mattress you find a creepy, crawling bed bug that has obviously taken advantage of your fresh blood as a midnight snack. Before you slip off into a rampage, you should remember to keep your head on so you can avoid packing the little blood suckers back home to your own home.

Alert the Front Desk of the Problem

Instead of packing up your belongings and making a run for it, make sure you let the front desk manager know that you have witnessed bed bugs in your room. This is a common problem in hotel rooms where the traffic flow from travelers cannot really be controlled. However, alerting the desk will make the problem known so they can call in pest control to handle the situation. Plus, you will likely get a refund for your stay because of the problem. After all, you are paying for a safe place to sleep and this is not really what you got.

Pack Your Belongings Carefully

Before you even think about cramming everything you brought into a suitcase and getting out of the room, be careful about how you pack your belongings. It is a good idea to ask for trash bags at the front desk to put your things in before you go. Shake every garment, suitcase, and belonging off carefully and then seal it all tightly in the bag. Double-bag your belongings if you can. If you drove, the last thing you want is to pack a nest of bugs back to your car where there are all kinds of places for the creatures to hide.

Take Care When You Arrive Back Home

Before you head back in the house with your things, it is a good idea to either shake them out thoroughly, or stop off at a local laundry mat where you can toss your clothing into a dryer for a quick spin. Running your items through a medium-high heat cycle for 10 to 20 minutes can kill the pesky bed bugs at any life stage, from egg to full grown adult.

After you have experienced bed bugs in a hotel room, it can be an alarming situation to be in. It is no secret that this pest is one that is difficult to get rid of on your own. If you suspect hat you have packed bed bugs into your home, it is a good idea to contact a pest control agent like Best Control Pest Control Ltd right away.
