Protect Your Family

When I moved into my current home, I almost immediately noticed the roaches. While the place wasn’t overrun with them, I saw them far too often. For a few years, my husband and I tried almost every anti-roach product available on the market. We would enjoy success for a short duration. However, the roaches always came back. Then, a wonderful thing happened. We hired a pest control company to spray our home for termites. As a bonus, the chemicals used to prevent termites got rid of our roach issue. If you want to protect your family from harmful roaches, contact a local pest control entity today. On this blog, you will learn how to rid your home of roaches for good with the help of a pest control specialist.

Waging War On The Rodents In Your Home

Jennie Lucas

Finding that you have a rodent infestation in your home can be very alarming, and it is important that you act as soon as possible. The problem with rodents is that they can cause a lot of damage to the wiring and insulation of your home, but they also can carry disease. The fleas on rats are known to carry a variety of diseases that are considered to be the main cause of the bubonic plague. The fecal pellets of mice are known to cause Hantavirus, which can be fatal to humans. So, it is very important that you take action and get rid of the little rodents as soon as possible.  Here are a few tips on keeping rats away, and getting rid of them if they are already in your home:

Clean Up

There is a reason that the rats or the mice are in your home. The most likely reason is that they were able to find a food source. You are going to want to find that food source and clean it up. While you are cleaning up the food source, you need to take a day and deep clean the home. Make sure that you clear out your cupboards and pantries of all the old food that you are not eating. It is smart to take everything out and simply clear everything possible.

Trap

Many people prefer to poison rats or mice, and poison does kill a lot of rodents. However, with poison, the rat or the mouse will usually crawl back into the wall, and you will have a dead rodent in your wall. A trap allows you to get the dead rat out of the home. When you are going to set the trap, use the same food that the rodent is used to getting from your food supply. Set the trap along the baseboards and perpendicular to the wall with the trap side facing the wall. This will give you the best chance to catch the rodent.

Pest Control

There comes a time when you are losing the battle against the rodents and you need to get professional help. Hiring a professional pest control company like Xtermco Inc is effective in many ways. If there is another reason that the rodents are in your home, they will be able to find it. They are trained to use the most effective methods, and they will also come back multiple times if it is needed.
