Protect Your Family

When I moved into my current home, I almost immediately noticed the roaches. While the place wasn’t overrun with them, I saw them far too often. For a few years, my husband and I tried almost every anti-roach product available on the market. We would enjoy success for a short duration. However, the roaches always came back. Then, a wonderful thing happened. We hired a pest control company to spray our home for termites. As a bonus, the chemicals used to prevent termites got rid of our roach issue. If you want to protect your family from harmful roaches, contact a local pest control entity today. On this blog, you will learn how to rid your home of roaches for good with the help of a pest control specialist.

3 Types Of Pest Control You Need For Your Older Home

Jennie Lucas

The purchase of an older home means that you may need to do things a little differently than with a new build. An older home means that you need to take good care of the structure and ensure that nothing needs replacement. Older homes are also more likely to have developed a pest control issue. Here are three types of pest control that you should get for your new-to-you older home.

1. Tiny ants and insects

Ants and insects like flies tend to be more of a nuisance than anything else. Ants can easily find their way inside of food containers and even in clothing and linens. Flies swarming is also annoying, especially if you are sitting outside. Have a general exterminator come to take care of your ant and insect issue. A small number of insects found in the house can easily be taken care of by spraying around the perimeter of your home. The one issue that you may run into is finding that they come back. After your exterminator leaves, look all over the house for small holes at the bottom of doors and small cracks in windows. Fill the holes so that insects cannot get back in.

2. Termite pest control

Termites are one of the worst pests to find in a home. Termite bugs eat at the foundation of your home, which will lead to structural damage. The damage will lead you to needing a new home structure and possibly needing to replace walls. To stop any possible termite damage now and in the future, have a termite pest control service to spray. Before spraying, they will be able to evaluate your structure to determine if there are or have been termites on the structure. If there have been, consider having the foundation reinforced and making replacements immediately.

3. Tiny rodents

Rodents of any kind on your property will be a major nuisance. Rodents tend to tear holes in the yard and in the home. Rodents are not just mice and rates, but they can also be squirrels. too many squirrels in the yard will mean that you find holes in your yard stashed with nuts. Hire a good pest control service to come in and set traps for any rodents. They can be released into the wild or carried away. Before they leave, have the rodent exterminators put down product to discourage rodents from coming anywhere near the perimeter of your home.
